Have just come back from a week in the Hunter Valley staying on an Olive Grove. It was absolute heaven. Silence, solitude and total creative freedom. Just me and my camera while my man and dog had afternoon naps and watched movies and read. Not another soul in sight, except the many birds and bees and the occasional fly which Chai tried to eat, or else sit shaking in her boots. I've never met another dog afraid of flies before! Strange creature! I cooked healthy food and made peanut butter cookies. Yum!
A month ago I started making the transition to veganism. It has been relatively easy, apart from two slip ups when out in social situations and I consumed dairy. Otherwise I'm really enjoying it. I am doing it for ethical reasons and have never made a more important or empowering decision in my life. I'm very happy. The 'film' issue is obviously one close to my heart, and for the time being I will only be shooting digital. As you know I am an avid lover of toy and vintage cameras from way back, and I have a considerable collection. I also have decent stocks of polaroid, trannies and film here as well. What to do? I think I will finish the film I have here, and not purchase anymore. Perhaps I will sell my holgaroid.....any takers?
Any one else out there vegan? I'd love to exchange ideas, opinions and recipes!
Hopefully it won't be too long before I update again, until then, here is some random art I liked.
